Rebuilding my 5.9 Magnum, suggested upgrades?
I'm rebuilding my 5.9 magnum. I was wondering what are some recomended upgrades for these motors? Mostly for reliablity and maybe a little performance too.
Thanks

depending on your budget there's many ways you can go. you can do a 400 plus small block with changing the crankshaft. cylinder heads are a great idea, you can go cast iron or aluminum heads. between buying and crank or heads those are your biggest items as far as cost goes. keep in mind your transmission and tuning.

1.7 roller rockers.. Get some new clearwater heads.. new timing chain... and do the plenum fix when motor is out.. After all that get a SCT tuner and you will have yourself a good reliable motor and you will be pleased with the performance...
All of that stuff can be done for right around 1k

Be sure to get the Clearwater HD heads... Plenum mod, cat delete, and dual exhaust will be your best bet. Also don't get aluminum pistons, that way you can use a higher voltage ignition system without burning a hole through your pistons.

Just look up odessa or clearwater.. they are the same company.. Not going to see much of a HP increase but they are better than factory.

I disagree... But second thought, I agree...
What rockers do you suggest?
