Im working on a custom 2wd front end for my Prerunner Dakota. Im guessing the stock 2001 2wd spindles are bigger than dakota ones by a few inches. even 1 inch is fine with me...not looking for height.
Now Ive got most of the suspension worked out I just want bigger spindles for strength purposes. I wanna run Ram 1500 2wd spindles. From what I know, which im not 100% sure but in 2001 they used the single piston brakes which would let me use 16 inch rims. Is this true? I would have to replace the ball joints to something bigger. Im putting chevy 1500 ball joints on the upper arm and plannin on using them for the bottom as well. Any input or info helps me out!

 

Not sure about 2wd but 4wd went to dual piston calipers in 2000 from single piston.
