I don't remember seeing a washer on mine. But whatever, some are different. I guess I'll get a bolt and washer on it.

VDub......wtf?

You are going to make me take it off again aren't you? LOL And as far the dip stick tube goes, that thin piece of steel (the bracket part of it that mounts to the alternator) warrants some kind of washer, whether it be a regular washer or a lock washer. Not many parts on any vehicle are just a bolt only.

And besides, the guy that did it has done hundreds of them, he knew what he was talking about and once he found out I knew what I was talking about, made sure I knew what he was doing and didn't BS me. I'm going back sometime this winter for the timing set.

Didnt need a grade 8, could have used a standard zinc coated.
