the v-10 seems to be pretty tough ans yes tough of fuel as well, i abused mine for 167K miles with no issues, and sold the engine, radiator, exhaust, wiring and computer for $1500, when i converted it to a cummins, also sold a second good v-10 for $900 so there really isnt much value in them, there are plenty of up grades, and the vipers are different, yet you can pull the heads, intake, cam, and make the truck version into the viper, but i think there may still be something different with the lower end, not suer, but the parts will swap

This thread is a good read:

Don"t know about fitting viper parts onto the truck block though.

As far as bolt ons go, headers and an exhaust will give a slight power increase.

Mine surprises me with it's acceleration on occasion. It is by no means slow- and my engine is 100% stock.

I'll echo Clipper's comments. Solid, tough engine.

Mine has 101k and runs like it's still new. Lucky for me, the PO took very good care of it and it shows. Right now it's stock with the 93 tune from Hemifever. With 4.10 gears and 305 tires, I'm getting 9 -10 around town and did mid 13's on a trip up the Maine coast in september. It's no cummins, but it pulls hard and tows everything I've asked of it.
