Did you notice it going in tight or did it seem way to easy?

Maybe a picture or two would help too.

I mean i suppose it is possible the old ball joints were bad enough to round out the arm a bit.. hard to say without seeing it

on the ball joints isn't there a clip that should prevent the ball joint from slipping out? I have not had to replace mine since i bought the truck and i haven't worked on one of these for a while.

Well it was pretty easy that is one thing we noticed. We were able to do it with a regular ratchet, no cheater bar or impact wrench. Should that be to easy?? We havent taken the truck apart yet so i cant get pictures of the arm that they are on. Just owndering if i am going to have to weld them on or something.

Hole in the control arm is probably stretched... either that, or the ball joint you got was undersized.... sometimes happens with the cheapies. (if it is a name brand, warranty it out, and try another.)

How hard was the old one to get out?

Sorry it took so long to respond. When we took it out we didn't even have to presss it the ball joint just slid out. We got the new one and we had to use a six foot cheater bar to press it in and if you guys read my 'ram success story' on the dodge ram page you will know it got rigorously tested. Now when I but the wheel bearing back in I turned the front axle and made the same clunk. Stupid me its coming from my u joints, so they just have to be replaced. And one more q. On the aftermarket ball joints we. Can not physically get that snap ring on. We actually bent the steel press that's how hard it is in so I'm not thinking it was possible to but that snap ring on

Was there a snap ring on the old one??? If not, don't worry about it. The joints will work in a selection of vehicles, some have the snap rings, some do not. Usually, the way they are designed, the weight of the vehicle will tend to press them in to place as well. (I.E. They are in no danger of just falling out. )
