That is exactly why I don't put any engine cleaners in my oil or run synthetic.

I have too many mini leaks as it is.

Default Synthetic oil

I have a '97 318 shortbed with 59,000 miles...Last change I went from dino oil(previous owner) to Mobil 1 10-40 And no leaks, plus pressure is up...I see no reason not to do this, especially since you can get 5 ouarts of it for $24.99 at *****-mart (or Wal-mart if you prefer)

I switched a new '75 slant six over to Mobil 1 and my oil consumption went way up with no oil leaks. Switched back to Dino oil and haven't used synthetics since.

I was going to switch my Dodge over when I bought it but then I found out how much oil it was burning so I decided to stick with conventional lol. Fixed the plenum and that took care of most of it but it still uses some. After I replace the valve stem seals if that stops the oil burning I'll switch over to synthetic. I have no problems with dino oil- had 287,000 on the 305 in my chevy and ran great with no problems. I had a 94 Mustang GT I switched over to synthetic around 200,000 miles. It had somewhere between 350,000-400,000 miles on it when it caught on fire. Still ran great. Never had to tear into the engine with either vehicle.

Go full synthetic! I switched and I swear the engine runs quieter and about ten degrees cooler. Could be coincedence but I haven't seen anything negative from the switch.
