Default LED bulb upgrades - help?

Ok, so here's the scoop. I bough some LED bulbs from Amazon (3157's) to replace my DRL/front turn signals. I figured I would need a load resistor (and I do since I have hyper flash right now) but my hyper flash only occurs when indicating. When I have my hazards on, they act normal, and my DRL's work fine too. Now, I haven't changed out the rear brake lights/turn signals or reverse lights yet. I won't need anything special for the reversing lights (just plug and play) but will the hyper flash even out once I replace my tail lights with LED's or will they need load resistors still? If they do need load resistors will they need one on each light (so 4 in total - 1 for each blinker) and what should I get (I'm thinking 6ohm 50amp will do it). Also, I've heard that the resistors get quite hot (sometimes in excess of 400F) and since the resistors will be used whenever my headlights or DRL's are on and not just when signaling will I burn up wires, waste electricity and put a strain on my electrical system, and is there a way to get around this (like an adjustable blinker relay or something?) that I can use. I figure that if I do have to put in the load resistors after all, I should only mount them on metal, or I will be burning plastic quickly. I also plan to swap out my dome light and license plate light (only have one - centrally located on my roll pan). These shouldn't require load resistors, as they are not blinking like my well blinkers. My truck is a '99 Ram 1500 if that makes any difference.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family!

You will have to have all four resistors. When you put the bulbs in the taillights, your blinkers won't work at all. When you install all four resistors, they will still hyper flash. I have yet to try to fix it. I haven't had any issues with heat, and etc.

i think you have to get a electronic flasher and it will solve your problem.

now i got to say don't waste your money trying to find led lights to work in the stock tail light housings. installing led's in your tail lights will most likely get you pulled over because a cop will most likely no see you using your turn signal because the difference between bright and dim on led lights is so little. i know i have tried lots of different led and the only ones that seem to really work are the one meant to be used in the cab. i got a led in one of my backup lights on my 81 and it sticks out but does not seem work that great as far as lighting up behind you. old truck light housings were just not designed for led's which is why they don't work that great.

So basically, I should only go to LEDs for inside the cab, behind the guages and ashtray lights, but leave the rest halogen? I just like the way they look. I guess the best way to get LEDs in my corner lights and tail lights is to go spend $250 and get aftermarket Spyder headlights and tail lights huh?

Another question. What size are the dome light bulb in our trucks (I have a WS with just one dome light above the bench seat - single cab) are they 1.25" or 1.75" bayonet bulb?

Anyone know what the bulb in the ash tray and cup holders is? I took it out of my truck but there are no numbers.

(the one on the right is the bulb I need to know the numbers for)

The cup holder and ash tray is 161. And the one for the ash tray is a pain to get out. So much so, I haven't bothered with it. Only replaced the cup holder.

I thought it was just those two philips screws in the front and then it kind pulled out/came down and I could just pull the bulb out...not so huh? I'm going to take the green plastic out of my cup holder one (and the ash tray if I can) so that they match the interior light.
