hey guys i have a 2000 ram v6 with 230k miles it is getting about 8mpg has no ***** and smokes blue dumps it at 3k and up im figuring the rings are shot just wanderin if anyone knows any less drastic issues it could be any input helps

 

Have you fixed your plenum?

 

Or done a wet/dry compression test?

 

i would also do a dry and wet compression test first. now if you have access to a leak down tester that would also give you a good idea where your problem may be.

 

cant honestly say i have but i aint gonna have truck much longer have loan on title and unable to pay so it aint mine much longer

 

You put a loan on a V6? Not to hate but lol.


You could at least poke around and see what's up that way you don't sell it to someone and it grenades itself the next week.

 

well im two weeks late and i tried selling had buyer but he got sideways on the deal so i got till tomorrow at noon

Dang.. 2 weeks late and its already ready for repo?!! your bank sucks... I guess there is no reason to fix anything then.
