Help with stuck spark plugs
I've always been ok with PB Blaster until I recently bought a used outboard. I've broken 5 bolts so far- even after spraying them for several days, tapping on them, etc. I'm going to have to try the acetone/atf.
Another vote for PBlaster, although I've heard good stuff about Kroil.
As far as stubborn plugs, I would run the engine for about 10 minutes to get the plug and head nice and hot. Then, shut off the engine and soak the base of the plug with penetrant. Repeat a few times before attempting to remove the plug.
When removing the plug, back it out until it stops (if it does) or becomes difficult to turn. Stop, apply penetrant and allow it to soak for a while. Repeat soaking a few times and then work the plug (tighten) back into the cylinder before working it back out again.
I always apply a light coat of Anti-Seize to spark plug threads. There are people vehemently opposed to doing so, and I laugh because the Anti types are the ones who'll advise people to coat the plug threads with a light coating of oil.

that is the problem. most people do not have access to torches like that.
i would have to agree with VW. if you got a stubborn spark plug in a steel head that does not want to come out run the engine to get it hot and it should come out like nothing. i know i had to do that to my dads ford to get the 1 plug out. now i have read that doing this to aluminum heads is not a good idea.
