Are you sure that the coolant isn't being blown out of the overflow container?
That's a common problem with the V10s, but I believe the V8s had a different overflow.

I would also have to put my vote in for the head gasket. Either that or the LIM gasket. And if you tear it down to do the LIM, you might as well do the headgaskets too.
What's the LIM?

Thanks guys I'll check those things and try to figure out the problem. I'll let everyone know what it is when I fix it.

My 98 has 130K on it and I just completed a topend overhaul. Although I wasn't using up coolant IN the engine, it had a pretty good leak at the thermostat.

If you have the 360 engine and you decide to remove the heads, check the area between each of the intake and exhaust valves for cracks. Mine had this and I've been told by machine shops and wrecking yards that it is a common problem with the 360 engine series that we use on this year truck.

not sure if it's been mentioned yet or not but if it's still not fixed, check near where the t-stat housing is... this is a common leak point for coolant on these motors.

if you swap the housing gasket, make sure you get the one from dodge... it has sealant built into the gasket so you dont need anything else, just clean it real well, put the new gasket down and bolt it back together...

The right wheel bearing hub, both axle u-joints on the front and the axle seals inside the axle! and I need to replace all four ball joints on the front!
