Why? Everybody gets things in their heads somehow and never can figure out why. I am gonna be out in my shop here in a few minutes so will check to make sure I didn't get the 14 inch thing wrong.

Aside from annoying songs from time to time, I don't have that problem. Or fourteen inch brakes with a 5x5.5 bolt pattern tucked up behind factory wheels. Or 15,000 pounds on a freakin' receiver hitch.

That little speck in your vision? It's your credibility flying as fast as it can over the horizon.

Well UnReg, I am dead tired of your cynicalism, and I will say if you can't control it then get on over to the gibberish thread before I blow up on you, as that is what the gibberish thread is for. Not needed here.

So I was mistaken. They are the factory brakes as listed on the build sheet. No 14 inchers. I still am wondering why I thought that it had 14 inchers. I'll post pic as soon as I can get to another computer as my laptop is not recognizing my phone for some reason.

So I convinced Dad to get a full ton. Wasn't too hard. Anyone want this nice 1/2 ton?

"Cynicalism" is not a word, and cynicism is not what I've been expressing here. I've been expressing disgust with your blatant disregard for the rights of those who drive the same highways as you to travel safely, and with your intellectual dishonesty. I believe that this disgust is warranted. That said, I have not expressed my disgust just for the sake of expressing it. My purpose is to give you a reason to reconsider the wisdom of these behaviors. Howzabout you surprise me and actually do so?

I'm not trying to ignore the safety of others. I just didn't realize that it was unsafe.

intellectual dishonesty
Explain? if you are referring to 14inch brakes, once again, my bad. I am very tired, and stressed out enough already. I don't have a perfect memory. But what I should have done was not stated it as fact but as a possibility, right?

That said, I have not expressed my disgust just for the sake of expressing it.
I see. My bad.

Howzabout you surprise me and actually do so?
Yes sir.

I agree now that it is dangerous to be towing 15K with a 1/2 ton truck equipped or not.
I also admit that I was wrong and apologize for it.
Also, we are probably gonna sell this truck now and get a 1 ton dually so we can tow safely.
Point of this? Lesson learned. Don't be so sure of myself, 'cause chances are I am wrong.

So with all of that being said, I think I can mark this thread as being [LESSON LEARNED] and put the 15K episode behind (and be wiser in the future)?

not a 4x4, not a diesel...... youll learn some day.

the v10 is a torque monster, but you will have higher tow ratings with the diesel.

Yeah, I will learn some day. Hey, isn't that why I have guys like you and UnReg, to watch out for what I miss or my stupidity (when it acts up)?
