RPM's Fluctuate on Highway speeds
So, Ive got a 98 Ram sport 5.2l with 192,000 miles on it, I recently took it on a trip to Wyoming and the truck did absolutely fine there was no fluctuating in the RPM's doing between 80-90 MPH, While I was in Wyoming my Thermostat deiced to become stuck open , So i changed it there I also changed out my TPS because I noticed there was a hesitation in the gas pedal, after I changed it, it made such a difference! . So a week later after getting back from Wyoming ( 1500 miles roundtrip) I deiced id take a weekend and hack off my not so loud stock muffler and throw on a cheap $26 Trush Glasspack, So I did and it was not to bad of a rumble and sound, but just today I had to make a (350 miles round trip) and I noticed doing about 80 mph at about 2000-2200 it the gauge would go back and fourth between 2000-2200 and it would feel and sound like it was misfiring, Im kinda thinking that the Glasspack is causing to much back-pressure and it's causing it to run poorly , If thats the case Im just going to throw a Thrush Muffler on it instead of a Glasspack. Let me know what It might be guy! Thanks, I really appreciate it !, Alec.
Glasspack should not cause this to happen, and would not create excess back pressure.
have you checked your plenum? How are your O2 sensors? Getting any CELs?
Is is slipping and causing engine flare?

I replaced my Plenum with a Huges plenum kit about 2 months ago. I haven't thought about my 02 sensors, and I haven't had any CEL's. It could be a bad 02 sensor, I do notice I have to take it out of overdrive to get up some hills. My ram hates hills, I will be going about 80 and hit a hill and its seems like it looses it's power and then i have to turn off over drive to make it up the hill. :/
Yeah, I went and bought a Duralast TPS from AZ for $30, If I can find the receipt still, maybe I will run it back over and exchange it for a different TPS, These damn TPS's -_- haha, but Thanks man!
