A cold engine test would show/give you worse results, warm it up first then test.

Well that was a complete fail and waste of time. The first one came out alright but then the second one got so mangled and never even came out so I spent two hours just trying to pry everything to get at the plug again. I think I might just throw some injector cleaner in it tomorrow and if there is no change I might just take it to the shop and get an estimate

Any other suggestions are welcome, if I end up taking it in I'll let everyone know what they say

do you have a warm place to work or are you out in the cold and the dark?
the spark plug shields can be stubborn, especially up north in the rust.

there's a few things you can try. tap(beat) them back and forth with a hammer. grab with vise grips and pull while beating. you can also hit them down at the manifold with a chisel or big screwdriver to break the rusty seal. also a bath of penetrating oil or wd40 will help.

No I am out on my driveway and can't get to it till after work when its already dark. Do you think it is that important to remove them at this stage or should I just do another compression test?

My fear is if we dont figure out whats going on my husband will continue to just keep working on it and it will never really fix the issue which means $$$$$$$$$ =( not ok with it. Please someone help up figure out whats going on. I am going out of town soon and my husband needs to be able to use his truck at this point i am fearing it will just die on him! Also check engine light hasnt come back on in over a month but today it came on for a second and then went off.. so I couldnt take it in to get read. Please someone help!

You can always yank the heat shields...get a test gauge that works and do compression test first.

Erm, you are aware that jkeaton is a mod here, and he is only suggesting that you comply with the rules of the forum? Sure, other folks post in threads with the same symptoms, but, very rarely do both vehicles have the same cause. It's just not a good idea....

Your truck has a variety of symptoms.... and most certainly merits its own thread, which you did indeed start. (either that, or a mod started one for you.) Let's just let this one go back to the OP, and call it a day.

Hey everyone,

Took it in and they just pulled it apart and reinstalled it and it runs now. Not sure, I must have wired something wrong. Also it is missing just a bit once in a while so I checked under the hood and they didn't rewire it according to the TSB. Should I go ahead and do this to see if it helps?

Thanks! I am pretty happy she is running again

What is "it" that was pulled apart and reinstalled? Cap and rotor? You could also doublecheck your plug gaps....I didn't read all the way back on all you've done...also were you going to get accurate compression test numbers? If the numbers you posted earlier are correct, that could explain what your feeling as a miss now.
