Default front drive shaft

Hi guys. Just installed a 5 inch rough country lift on 2001 ram 1500. Since then front drive shaft has been giving me trouble. Cv joint on transfer case is all loose. Causng u-joints to hit when turning. Is by cv joint just worn right out?? Or should I have something else with the lift?? Anyone else run into this probkem??

It's probally not just loose, after a lift the angle of shaft can cause it to bind but I've never heard of it with a 5" kit. Can you explain where it's hitting or better yet got a pic?

I would just rebuild it, especially if you haven't rebuilt it in the time you've had the truck.
Driveshaft angles should not be of concern under 7 inches of lift.

OP Welcome to DF

A Double cardan joint is not the ezest to rebuild, if you have never done one and don't have a good selection of tools take it to a shop to be rebuilt.

I'm missing something. Turning should have no effect on the driveshaft

I think he means the cv-joint is binding (or hitting, whatever the case is) when the driveline turns.
