Question need opinions!

i have a 2000 Ram 1500 4x4 extended cab. i want to lift it with either a 3 inch lift or a leveling kit with about 33 inch mud tires. i have found the wheels im getting they are ion alloy wheels, the 174's that have the mock bead lock, and im looking to get 16 or 17 inch wheels. i need some incite on what mud tires and lift are the best for my money.

Id personally go with the 5in rough country lift, and tires... i geuss that depends on what kind of driving you do? Super swamper? all terrain?

If all you're after is height in order to fit some tires, then a simple 2" body lift should do the trick. If it was me, i'd go with suspension lift (skyjacker - maybe just do add-a-leafs in the rear) but thats just because i feel it's the "proper" way of lifting a truck. For tires, i would do a 16" rim (more tire options) and look at discounttiredirect.com. Their selection is a little limited but you get free shipping

Do not get the ion wheels in a painted finish, just ask merc why.

I've got black ions on my grand Cherokee. Had them over a year and no problems yet. I believe they're the 174's too. Id go with the 17's if you plan on staying bigger than a 33. More and more company's are making tires for bigger wheels now. Just about all stock truck rims are 17" and up nowadays.

Wow man good on you for remembering almost right.

The ones that messed up bad where Eagle Alloy series 185 waste of coin better off to flush it down the crapper. My currant ones are ION 171 polished, so far so good with them. Oh wait the plastic center cap will where a mark into the rim even if tq'd down.

Up here 16" tires are being faded out, like posted above look at a 17" tire and rim, tires/lift what do you do with your truck?

I have to work out of my truck and I'll use it off road too but I can't make it to big because I won't be able to use it for work otherwise I'd go a lot bigger on everything.
