Default Buying a 97 1500 SLT

I am going to by buying a 1997 Ram 1500 SLT 5.9 4X4 for my son this weekend. I have gone through the forum and identified a lot of what I should be looking for. Plenum fix, Tranny issues, ect... This is a one owner garage kept truck but it has 160,000 on it.... anything I should specifically check?

Thanks
John

The two things you mentioned.... and everything else you would normally check on a used vehicle. Steering, brakes, etc. Make sure to take it for a nice test drive.

+1 on what HeyYou said.. Take it on a long enough drive to get everything warmed up..Look for any weird transmission noises, slips etc.... Check the trans fluid in Neutral when warm and running.. Also check out the 4x4 engagement.. If you can get near some wet grass to do this that is best.. if not you can do it on dry pavement but make NO turns...
