Default Truck wont start. Please Advise

So, last night I drove my truck got home turned it off and felt something weird when i turned the key. I didn't think anything about it and went to sleep. This morning I went to start my truck and it wouldn't start. No crank, full power all the lights work. When i go turn the key there is absolutely no resistance. I have never felt the key turn like this before. Went to auto parts store this morning and they advised me its my ignition switch. I picked one up, but wanted to ask if this has happened to anyone else. Does anyone have pictures of replacing their ignition switch. I'm going to read the service manual today on the procedure, but before I do it I just wanted to confirm with you guys. I have fuel pressure, battery is good, all the lights and radio and everything turn on when the key is turned all the way. No resistance on turn, no cranking. Starter was replaced not to long ago.

Thanks

Laramie

"Felt something weird". What -- like a great disturbance in The Force?

Some more details would be helpful, but based on your experience at the parts store, it sounds like they are on the right track.

I felt like something came loose or broke, with a slight click. I lost all resistance when turning the key back.

So... I took out the housing and took out the switch. Then went i took out the ignition key cylinder i found the problem. It wasnt the ignition switch it was the key cylinder had sheared in the back. I guess after 17 years of being turned on and off it finally gave up. Heres a picture of the problem.
