Default Door latch

ok so my POS f'n truck...which i absolutly hate now...has broken the door latch for the 3741230894123045823408th time. gets stuck in the down position ALL the time and i have to take it apart and reset the springs in it....ive gotten new springs....still does it...new door latch (well used) and still does it.....about every 50 openings of the door, i have to pull the latch because the two straight springs keep popping out.

well it did it again today except all the springs lauched out. ive searched for the past 40 minutes trying to find a pic of the insides and how the springs set, no where online has a pick or info on it that i could find. theres one spring that i have absolutly no idea how it goes in...ive tried every possible combination and it will not go on right.

i donr have the star bit to take off my pass. side to look at that one, so i was wondering if anyone knows how this spring sets in

Calm down.

How many times have you thought of this? Cool it and think rationally.

Mine does that too... I just pull on the door handle, stick my finger in there, and flip it back up. Apparently, mine doesn't even have the spring any more..... I am going to fix it by replacing the entire door. I already have a good set of doors, they are just the wrong color.

i have been messing with this thing for almost an hour trying to set that one spring....there is no possible way for it to go back in.....now my door is stuck open and im going to have to tie it shut with a rope......she needs to get crushed at the scrap yard, that would bring a smile to my face to see that for all the headaches, labor, blood, sweat, and tears ive put into this junk of a truck.

Just to throw this in. I bought two new door latches yesterday. I saw on Ebay there is a driver side power door latch for our truck for 30$. That would most likely solve you problem. Also I've taken the door **** (plastic guy) off and trimmed down the sides a bit so there is no resistance going up and down. I've had success with minimizing it getting stuck.
