Default new shocks but the rear end as play from side to side

this weekend i put in new shocks..(and brakes) so i had the rear wheels off...took a bit to get the drums off...after it was all done i put the drums back on and wheels and used an impact to tighten the lugs...after i was done i shook the wheel and it had a little bit of play in it... i could here a little rattle... when i shook the tire..like push and pull on the face of the tire... both sides did it... made sure the lugs are nice and tight.. so i figure it should of had play in it ( didnt notice nor checked before the tires came off) now when im driving around i can here the same noise but louder and it has never done it before... any ideas? bearings?

no.. 1500... i mean like if i push on the drivers side or passengers side of the bed hard enough back and forth ... i can hear a metal on metal sound... like the drum is slapping against something..neer done it before... im stumped...waiting on my floor jack and im gonna pull the tires and drumms back off...maybe theres some kind of notch or something thatll only let the drums fit right one certain way...

When you say it took a bit to get the drums off, do you mean you had to beat them off? If so, what did you use?

i used a metal ball pean hammer but i only LIGHTLY tapped the drums..mainly to break free the rust "seal" only did it a few times and the drums slipped right off...no un-needed force was used....i used as much care as possible

I think what you are talking about is a normal thing. Go find some other dodges and shake them to see if they give you the same results. My dakota had side ways slop but I can't honestly say if my ram does or not.

I just went out on mine and shook it. It doesn't make any of the sounds you are describing.
