Alright I'm finally back, got my 440 and 4spd. I bought a 1985 pickup with a "fresh" 440. Here is the thing, I drove it home 1.5hour trip then around town and it ran great then I parked it. The next day I started it and went Down the road about a mile or so and the motor/trans started squealing, the more I accelerated the louder it got then it shuts Dow. And wouldn't turn over. So the next day it started right up ad will idle forever and again as soon as you hit the gas the squeal starts ... Any ideas? Crank bearing, throw out bearing??? Please help!!!

+1 on chedking that starter is disengaging. Also for S&Gs, check PS pump and belts and pulleys. having clutch in or out not making a difference eliminate TO bearing usually. Since you dod not mention it, I assume clutch is not slipping....

You have an idler pulley/tensioner on that beast? Or is it tightened with the alternator?
