Smile heater out, heated seats in

After many years of dealing with the retarded heater core issues, I finally have a cure, well sort of lol

Wish i would have takin some more pics of the install, but its really quite simple to do, and I have the iggee leather seats so it was very simple (bout 1/2 hr for the 98) and wouldn't apply to most, but just got to get under the fabric or seat cover, lay the pads down, mount the switches, and plug in the wires, they are a 2 wire hook up, ground and a switched power source, I used the cigar lighter wiring in the 98, the pads are very thin and are unnoticeable in feel or sight, and work very well, about $75 a set (2 seats) I had a set in my Dakota, and just installed in the mega cab last night

This is what I got ----> http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...id=36465075459

Here is what I did for the switches

Cool stuff, clean install too. Those kits are so cheap you almost can't afford not to buy them . How fast do they warm up and how hot do they get? Really starting to contemplate getting a kit.

If you're lucky, you can retrofit OEM factory seat heaters and controllers into a 2nd gen Ram.

Before I sold my Durango I removed all the heated seat stuff, since they have to use the most simple heated seat system (it's completely standalone from everything else in the truck) and have began installing them in my Cummins. I won't completely finish it until spring (Too cold out there to screw with it now) but I have picked up Durango heated seat systems from the junkyard for about $15 total.

I have a bad back, and heated seats really help on long drive. Have it in Jag and wofe's car, but maybe need to look into this as well.

What size are the pads? Any issue with fastening seat covering for contour lines?

where did you run the wires for the install?
along the door kicks or under the carpet?

Because I have the manual floor console, I just tucked the wires under it and ran out of there under the seats, its still on top of the carpet but not visable
