have a 2001 1500 Ram 4x4 5.2 and I want to lift the truck and roll 37's. so my question is if I go ahead and swap my gears to 456's now before I do the lift how much is that gonna affect my truck. Right now I don't have the money to buy gears and a lift all at once nor do I have the time to install both at the same time so I want to do it in steps. Would I be better off doing the lift and tires first or the gears?
do the gears first it will make the rpms a little hight and you will lose atmost 1mpg its beter than doing the lift and tires then losing the trans before gears
Lol yeah the only problem with that is I'd have to get 35s then after gears buy 37s. I have 33s right now. I have a 2" puck spacer and blocks on right now and would like to add RC's 5" kit.
Is there anything I should do to the tranny as well to beef it up a lil? I know the gears will take the strain off but is there anything else
in th diy section there is a check valve delete for trans cooler
aside from getting a mega viper trans or going standerd there is no other worth while upgrades
