Swapping old fog lenses for new ones

So as the title says im in the process of trying to swap out the old hazy fog lenses in my 98 ram. As you guys already know they are in an inconvenient spot where you cant actually see the bolts that hold the lens housing into the bumper. I ran into a problem where the nut loosened almost all the way off of the stud and then the stud just spins freely and wont allow me to remove the nut. It's such a tight squeeze and bad spot to work in that im leaning towards pulling the entire freakin bumper off the truck to get to it (which id really rather not have to do). Any of you guys run into issues like this in the past and have any better solutions??

If you have access to some body shop air tools, right angle socket whatchamacallit, it isn't to hard. And another pair of hands would make pulling bumper easier. I personally would give it one more try rather than pull bumper. Been awhile but changed mine out with out removing bumper. Also changed my bumper once and don't remember, but 6 to 8 bolts
