I replaced the TPS and there was no change... now after about a 15 minute drive the trans temp light is coming on which it never has before...

I asked the guy that did my rebuild if he did anything with the check valve and he said he took it out... but I can pop the hood and still see the brass fitting that I'm pretty sure is the check valve...

Too lazy to read back 3 pages but, how's your fluid level? Check with truck at normal operating temp and in Neutral. Sounds like the transmission is getting hot.

the fluid level is good... it doesn't look dirty but it does smell a little burnt...

I will mention the trans check valve again. The fluid is smelling burned because it is, hence trans temp issue. Delete the check valve, change fluid and filter, adjust the bands and then pray. Too much more driving and the trans will be toast if its not already. Heat is the enemy of our trans. Good write up in the DIY for deleting check valve.
