i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 and fuse 1 for parking lights and guage lights keeps blowing. i recently did some work with the stereo and added some fog lights. i dont think the fog lights have anything to do with it but i checked anyways and nothin but i have seen a few things about people adding an after market stereo and this happening. my stereo was already aftermarket, all i did was connect 2 new front speakers but no new wiring. any thoughts or insight?
The stereo install would be my first suspect.... as you have to tap into the instrument lights as well. Pull the radio, check your wiring. Probably something shorting out back there.
fixed it. black and yellow wire behind stereo had an exposed end and was melting its way through a quarter inch of styrofoam to the ground and was grounding out through it. put a new fuse in and everything works fine now.

Styrofoam? I would try heat shring tubing. Much safer. More reliable.
