I'll check that. I've got new heavy duty pushrods in it since I put new heads on I replaced them as I heard the stock pushrods bend easily on the heads I got. Actually I'd void the warranty had I not done that.
^^^ Yep they are under $120, his tick stopped as per his words in the gibberish thread. Typical Dodge lifter that don't want to pump up with oil, they can be a pita to load back up. What get's me is new heads, new push-rods, new plenum gasket but old lifters WHY?

Why? First off, cause I didn't know these engines had lifters. Remember guys, when I tore into this engine it was half blindly. I was used to working on much simpler lower horse power engines that don't have such fancy things as hydraulic lifters etc. Most of 'em were flatheads, not OHV. Second off, we weren't intending to do more than replace the plenum. So we just fixed basically what wasn't working instead of doing a more thorough job. Lessons learned. Lots of 'em. So I'm all the wiser for it, much thanks to DF for that! At any rate, I'm planning to run it for now, try running some ATF in the motor oil, then when money permits, gonna put in Mopar performance lifters, a different cam, and replace the timing chain. Oh, and get a Mopar Performance PCM!
Flat heads eh lol so you are used to adjusting the tappets then, that's a job I don't miss doing. To me everybody should change there lifters if the intake is off, why do the job twice.

The flat head Fords didn't have the luxury of adjustable tappets unless you got Johnson adjustable lifters or used lifters for the Ford 4 cylinder tractors which were adjustable and cheaper.
Other than that you ground some off the valve stem to increase clearance or off the valve face or seat for less.
