Look at the coils, see any spacers? More than one lift block on the rear leafs? Does the front sit higher than the rear when you have weight in the box?

Doesn't sounds like there's any lift to me. Unless there's a add-a-leaf. To be sure, make sure there aren't any coil spacers upfront.

My truck sat a good 3 or 4 inches higher in the rear than the front. After installing the 2500 front coils to level it out, oem shocks still fit. But I got the 2500 shocks just for added measure.

Looks like a big hockey puck kind of. You'll see it on the top of the coil spring. here is a link to topguncustomz to give you an idea

As for OEM shocks, go to the dealer or RockAuto. Monroe seems to be a fairly good brand.

Rear blocks should measure 3"
Should also have 5 leafs in the rear if you got 4wd (I think its 5)
Pics would help too

Well, sounds like you have a leveling kit. OEM shocks will still fit.
Like I said, I got a pair of shocks for a 2500 for my truck, just went to the dealer to get them, free of charge I may add. lol
