Default Stall when changing gear select

I got a 1998 ram 1500 5.2l with 111k on the clock. Every so often, the engine will stall when I'm changing from like Park, to Drive, or Reverse. I haven't really taken to notice to which its stalls, but I think mostly from Reverse to Drive if that has anything to do with it. A couple weeks ago the engine began to run extremely rough, and would shake violently when i gave it gas so I replaced the plugs with Champion plugs, and the difference was night and day. I do notice a slight chug when it hits overdrive slightly, but thats only me. Now this stalling effect is really bothering me. The crank sensor was replaced back in november as well, and distributor will be replaced this week. Now would this have to with the IAC requiring a cleaning? I was reading another forum with a similar issue with an extremely low idle when stopped at a light, and I have that same issue. When I'm stopped at a light, the idle drops down to around 600 rpm, if not lower. So I was wondering if my issue would be within the same realm of the IAC. Thanks in advance for anyone's input.

Disconnect battery ground, and pull IAC. clean it (do not turn the pintle) and clean the port. Reinstall and connect battery. See if that helps.

And waht are you doing to distributor? Do NOT loosen and turn this!

Would it pay to just get a new IAC?
I am replacing the distributor with a new one.

Clean it first. Dirt and build up are more often the problem rather than failure. And why would you change distributor? Do you realize that you will then have to take truck to a shop to have fuel sync set after replacing it? Heard that cost os from $80 and up.

Alright will do, and I just figured that goes along with putting new plugs in it, which I did last week

Cap and rotor, yes. Change them. Get brass contacts and not aluminum. It will last longer.

Exactly what I got, thanks man.
By the way, I see you have HS 1.7 Rockers, how do you like them? notice any difference? I'm thinking about installing them to be able to put a larger cam in my 5.2 down the road. As well as your truck is SCT tuned, how do you like that? and thats from hemi fever right?

I did the HS Rockers, efan and SCT tune at the same time. Love the feel and response when I did these. Get the SCT from hemifever. Sean does a great job and cust service is excellent. I am running the stock cam, but if you are considering changing the cam, I would recommend talking to Sean,

Alright, great. How exactly does the tune take place? I'm a little confused when people say its a single guy. Do you bring your truck to him?
