Default Ram 3500 Acting Up, HELP!!

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9 v8. It has 112,000k miles on it. I just replaced the cats, mufflers, bank2 sensor 1 o2 sensor, tps sensor, air filter, wires, plugs, oil, distributor cap, and sprayed sea foam down throttle body and the fuel pump is only 8 months old.

My truck has been acting funny, itll drive ok but when i press thegas pedal down hard it tries to go but then pulls back. I feels like its teasing me, it shows me for 2 seconds it has ***** but then falls back. I do not understand what is going on. I hooked a pressure gauge up to my fuel rail and it has 49-50 psi and it hold there when i press the gas and after the truck is off. It is not spitting any codes. It seems real sluggish. Any ideas, it is starting to cost me a pretty penny chasing this problem!!!!

Just had the same problem on my dakota 5.9. My problem was a plugged cat, but you said they are new, or how many miles has it been? I hooked a back pressure tester to the o2 sensor hole in front of the cat. It pegged the gauge. Is it installed in the right direction? Hope this helps.

Would this happen if timing was off just a little? I havent checked the timing yet.

Do NOT loosen and turn distributor! (in case you did not know...)

at 112K it should not be that bad. Have you checked the plenum? Also, check TPS. If it is not working correcntly the PCM has no way of knowing what position it is in and may not know to increase fuel as needed.

TPS sensor is brand new, just put it on 4 hours ago and I have not checked the plenum yet, I will definately do that tomorrow. Any other possible causes? I wont move the distributor, thank you for the warning because I most definately would have moved it.

Moving dist is not used to set timing on these engines. It does alter fuel sych, whcih generally requires an expensive trip to dealer to set it.

Did you disconnect battery ground when installing TPS? If not, try that and let it set then reconnect after a couple minutes. That resets the PCM. Then drive for a bit, shutting it soen and restarting a few times. This helps PCM learn the new sensors.

Ok, I will disconnectthe battery for a little while today while i check the plenum. I did not disconnect it while I installed the new tps. Hopefully this helps. Also, I was wondering, my hanes repair manuel calls for 35-45psi of fuel pressure and I have steady 50. Is this ok or is it a sign of a clogged fuel filter?
