Recently my rear end went out in my truck.
Can i replace my rear end with any 2nd gen rear end for 1500?

The Pinion and carrier bearing, rear has a lot on miles and i just rather buy a used rear end

As long as you get an axle with the same gear ratio you should be fine.

Just to be on the safe side yes up to 2001 will work just fine. As your truck is a 2wd as you posted gear ratio does not matter, pick your poison.

It only matters with 4wd since both diff's must be the same ratio (at least if you want to USE 4wd)

Hey while you're looking for a rear axle to swap, get one from a 2003 with disc brakes. It's a very easy change, and all you HAVE to do is buy a different E-brake cable to connect to your system. When I did my swap, I also removed my proportioning valve and let the master control the front bias braking. I can help you search for complete axles in your area if you PM me your ZIP. That way you could drive out and pick it up if I locate one close enough.
