NV3500 to NV4500 conversion
I did my best to search the archives, but everything I turned up was to switch from an auto to NV4500. I am currently running an NV3500, and soon, (hopefully) will be swapping to an NV4500 (from a gasser). I just have a couple of quick questions.
1- Is the overall length including bellhousing, similar enough to reuse my current driveshafts?
2- Is the output shaft spline count the same?
3- I assume I will be building a new crossmember? I seem to remember reading somewhere that the crossmembers are in different spots.

I think driveshaft lengths will be different. Still might be able to use your driveshafts though....
Spline count is the same.
crossmember should be the same as well. Trans mount might be different.

Thanks, HeyYou, spline count was my biggest concern.
Anyone rebuilt one of these themselves? Anything to look out for? I have a trans that moves my truck for now, so time isnt an issue, thus allowing me to rebuild it myself. I do have a DF buddy that said he would give me a hand with it. I know he has been in one of these before.

Lol. That cracked me up.
I have a feeling its one of those things that, once you crack it open, it is pretty self-explainitory. Pull it apart, throw new hardwear on, and put it back together. I did a Ford C4 Auto once, for my Mustang, but thats it, as far as my transmission knowledge.
