Default 98 ram - idle / starting issues when warmed up - almost stalls at lights

I have an odd issue, that I'm trying to troubleshoot. So far, its not tossing any codes.

The truck starts / runs fine when cold.

However, when warmed up and I try to start it, it will turn over, start, the rpm will dip, and then promptly stall. I find that if I leave the key in accessory mode for 15 seconds, it will generally start on the 2nd attempt, but my RPM gauge will still bounce around as it nearly stalls.

After the truck is running, everything seems fine - until I come to a stop at a light, then the RPM's crash and sometimes it nearly stalls. Its actually never stalled, but its come pretty close, to where my gauge cluster dims and the RPM's drop to almost nothing.

Would a bad or stuck IAC cause the truck to do this?

IAC is a possibility as is the TPS. Sticky EGR could also be a culprit.

I'm going to take the IAC and TPS out today and clean them both. I know I've replaced them both in the past year or two.

98 doesn't have EGR, so, don't go looking for it.

May be O2 sensor as well.

Nope, O2 doesn't have to throw a code if it doesn't want to.

Not necessarily when they first start to go.
