Default 98 360 stalls when cold

i have a 98 1500 with a 360. the only issue i have is when its cold and i put it into gear it begins to move and then stalls. once it is driven for a few hundred yards it seems to run fine. i just upgraded from a first gen dodge to a second. its like starting the learning process all over. the only other symptom is that when you start out driving it seems like the tranny is jumping until it gets up to speed. it doesnt do that all the time. any help is apperciated. it has a jasper trans with 35000 miles.

Possibly IAC and/or TPS. Really need a little more info. What is it like at idle?

seems to idle fine. one other thing that just came to mind is it sounds like it has a vaccum leak coming from under the tranny tunnel when your inside the truck. it make a sucking or hissing sound but again only when its cold.

Check vacuum lines at TB and firewall. Vac leak will cause problems.

ok the letting it warm up in neutral worked. had no problems this am when i left for work. the jumping that seems to come from the tranny still happens and also the sucking sound. havent had a chence to check the vaccum lines. it was dark when i got home from work. i talked to the previous owner today and found out the tps was replaced the day before i got the truck but not the iac. any more ideas?

these transmissions don't pump fluid in park so letting it warm up in neutral allow the fluid to start flowing. maybe the jumpy feeling is related to the sucking noise. could possibly check and clean the IAC just so you can say it looks good.
