Alright cause i know mine isn't infinity cause they don't sound good at all when i have the volume turned up. Sounds good when i have it at a good listening volume though.

They sell 6x9s at walmart for not too much so i'll get some for the front. Is it hard to replace the rear speakers too? They should have kicker 5.25s there so i might pick them up too. I also hear that kicker is good for subs and that brands like alpine speakers are better for sound clarity?

Edit: I just found this website that tells you the size of the speakers in your vehicle:

Alpines are the BEST speakers you can get for the money

I would never buy kicker anything

Rewiring is not that time consuming. You can bypass the infinity amps simply by cutting the wires and then findin the + and - on a diagram

i have kickers in my rear and they are trash. my JL subs kick *** though. from what i have read on the net, kickers are the super low end of the spectrum of sound wise. but its all based upon your budget and what you think sounds good. listen to the speakers in person, if they sound good grab them. just my .02 cents.

to take panels off there is a couple of screws and once the screws are out its a matter of yanking on the panel unless you have like a fork sort of tool to try popping the dodge clips out. also be careful the panels are brittle, well at least in my truck and keep in mind they are non reusable so pick yourself a pack off this site. dealership wants a lot for those pesky clips.

I went over to bestbuy tonight, picked up some 6x9 and 5 1/4 pioneers for about 100$. If anyones interested, best buy has a sale on them right now. And I have 2 10" kickers in my truck, they sound pretty good, but right now they just drown out the infinity system at high levels. But at medium levels it sound pretty good.

What is with everyone's infatuation with eliminating the factory amps? I understand if you want to run an aftermarket amp to push the speakers harder, but eliminating the amps to wire the speakers directly to the head unit is counter productive.

I'm running 6x9 Infinity Kappa's in the front and 6.5" Kappa's in the rear off of the factory amps, and no I did not have to cut the doors. It sounds absolutely incredible with a mid grade Pioneer deck.

for removing the door panels, invest in a $7-10 tool that has a notch to catch the christmas tree clips.

tools and pics here.

How exactly do I tell if I have infinity?Im almost positive I do have it because I have tweeters on Pillars, and on the factory radio I have the bass/mid/treble adjustment. Is this infinity?

How big of a difference is it from a completely seperate amp over just the normal infinity amp?

i think the tweeters indicate its Infinity. the presence of the amps on the front door 6x9's will confirm.

an amp is all about power watts and number of channels, so find out what the Infinity amps are rated at (rms, not peak). i don't know what they are, but if they happened to be 50 watts rms each, that's not bad. power is power. the Infinity amps also have a cross-over thingy which diverts the higher frequency to the pillar tweeters (if you like those). i personally don't like them chirping the highs in my face.

I plan on getting some kind of 6x9 fronts and 5.25 backs. But i already know I'm getting my 10" Kicker Subs and a custom box off walmart.com haha. I'll be running the speakers to a separate amp and then i'll be running my subs to another amp.

I will probably end up getting an all kicker setup; speakers, amps, and subs.

Amazon has some pretty good deals on 6x9s and you can even read reviews on them and they'll help ya decide.
