I have a 96 dodge 1500 that i want to switch over to a 3/4 ton. My only question that i have is that the front end and rear end are out of a 89 dodge 250. I have a parts truck for my old truck thats why I have that front end and rear end. I was just wondering if anyone has done this conversion and how easy it is.

 

you need axles, xfer case, springs, and badges

why bother though? plan on putting more weight in the bed? or is this just something to do just cause?

 

It would never be true 2500 rated without the frame too.

An axle swap is a great Idea in that case. Do a search here on DF and you'll find lots of threads. Not sure about about swapping axles out from older trucks tough. Most here swap d60's and such from other 2nd gen rams.

 

meh, a 1500 can do that...

not like you are going to gain any pulling power by doing a conversion to 2500...

 

It's not for a power gain its just so my nose isnt pointing towards the sky.

if you want to bring the rear end up a bit you could always get a add a leaf kit. they are usually fairly cheap.
