Default 1998 dodge ram 3500 dually v10 info needed

Hi,

I am seriously considering buying a 1998 dodge ram 3500 2 wd dually with the v10 magnum/auto trans. The truck has been maintained meticulously and rust proofed(never winter driven) every year by a mature older gentleman and the truck literally looks like a new truck it's so incredibly clean and straight. The truck has only been used to carry a small in box camper and amazingly has never had a fifth wheel or receiver hitch installed on the frame so that tells me that it has never pulled heavy frame twisting loads.

My main reservation for jumping on this sweet truck is the fact that it has 239 000 kms (mostly hwy kms )..........given it's great condition and history, how many more kms should I expect out of the v10 engine if I follow a ongoing strict maintenance schedule (oil change/filters/tune ups etc) and are these ram v10 engines easy to find used if ever I do need to replace the engine. If you have any other tips on what to look out for overall before I buy the truck that would be very much appreciated as well!

Thanks in advance

That's sound like a nice ride. How much is he asking for it? 239000km is about 148000mi. I would expect you could get another 100000 miles out of it (don't know what that is in km). However te V10s were an unpopular choice because of its gas mileage and the fact there was a diesel option...so finding a replacement engine may e difficult.

As far as the trans, it could last another 100000km or another 1000km, its hit and miss

Replacement v10 engines aren't that bad to find and they are usually pretty cheap seeing as not that many people want them.
