Default cracked transfer case

Sorry for this, but my tablet wont let me search for some reason. My 95 1500 has a cracked t-case. It looks like a hairline crack but seeps a fair amount of oil. The truck has 250000 miles and is a hunting truck only but I am planning to rebuild the 360. I will be adding a mild cam and slightly modded other items for performance. What is my best option for repairing the tcase? Im worried about torque with the new set up.

Also, should I replace the torque convertor and rebuild the tranny while in there? Comp says the stock stall will be fine with the cam they suggested.

Replace tcase. Not much you can do to repair except TIG weld it maybe, then probably machine work.

What transfer case does your '95 have? I'm replacing my Ram's NV231 with an NV242 from a Durango, so I'll have a good used transfer case that'll need a new home. We can work out a deal if you're going to be interested in it.

You can find t-case housing parts occasionally on ebay.
I would replace the torque converter if rebuilding the engine. Anytime I pull an engine or trans, it gets a new torque converter or clutch, unless I know that it is practically brand new, which yours definitely is not.
Honestly, I'm surprised your original trans is still holding up with that many miles. If its in the budget, I would rebuild it, since you are going to have it out anyway.

Im not sure which case I have. Im working in Detroit and the truck is back home in La. I am definitely interested though. I will pm you for details.

As far the trans I agree about rebuilding it. My wife wont be too happy since I just sunk about 18K in rebuilding a 67 Coronet 440. Oh well, gotta have something for her to 6itch at me about...

I'll rebuild a tranny for a restored 67 Coronet!

Okay, I have the NP231 DHD. Baxter shows it new (or refurb) for $317. I wonder if they fixed the cracking problems or is it just stock inventory. The truck has a lot of miles but is in good shape, otherwise I wouldnt be putting money in it. I just painted it last summer and the front end is practically new so I want to give it a fresh o/h and keep running it. 250k miles and it doesnt smoke. I change oil when I feel like it and dont baby it all. Gotta love a Dodge...

I was gonna sell mine on Craigslist for anywhere between $50 and $75. I don't know if that's fair or not but that was just the figure I thought of first. For reference, I bought my NV242 for $200 used from a salvage yard.
