I doubt the check valve is your problem . Try cleaning the IAC https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...an-the-iac.htm

And download the service manual from the FAQ/DIY section and/or get a Haynes manual. They both will tell you how to check most if not all the sensors.

Check valve delete will only help prevent tranny overheat, and not cause issues you are having. That said, it is still a good idea to get it done.

I would check TPS and IAC. Make sure plug wires are routed correctly (according to TSB). Misfire will not always display a code. I belive it has to count a given number of misfires to set code. If you have a scanner that can read stored codes, it may shed some light on the issue.

Only mentioned the check valve because I've been meaning to do it and I needed to add fluid anyways. Already have the service manual. First thing I did when I joined the forum. Came in handy several times. I'll check the sensors tomorrow. WS really looking for a place to start rather than shot gunning it. Thanks guys.

Looks like a tranny issue. Erratic shift from 1-2 and hard. Following the trouble shooting guide in the diy section. Transmission was a JY pull by the previous owner. Wish me luck. GDStock, may have to take you up on you offer to diagnose .

May have to get another JY tranny and do a build! We can do an Austin-Viper!

Appears to be resolved. Took GDStock's advice and routed the plug wires per the TSB. Found at least one bad wire that was crispy. Replaced all the wires and now running better than ever. GD,would still like to get together and run a baseline plus see if anything's up that I haven't noticed. Anytime is good if this week is too busy for you.
