A weird issue just developed. When driving, my truck has what feels like a small jerk. Not sure if it's a miss, transmission issue, or differential issue. There's no rpm change, no noise the sounds different and no check engine light. Power does feel a bit subdued. Thoughts?

 

WHen does it do it? Any specific RPM? Hot? Cold?

 

No specific rpm that I can pinpoint. Does it hot and cold. Very interment yet constant, If that makes sense. Also checked the plenum and definitely need to put in the plenum kit, yet all spark plugs are clean.

 

Check your u-joints and suspension.

 

U- Joints are solid. No play. 6 month old bilstiens on all four corners with no signs of deterioration. Bottom leaf on drivers side is kicked out about a quarter of an inch. Leaf spring hangers and bushings look correct. I pulled the rear drums, adjusted the rear brakes and cleaned out all the brake dust. BTW, what should I torque the lug nuts to?

 

Not sure... I think it's like 80 ft/lbs....

Is it any kind of consistent? Not just hitting bumps in the road are you?

 

Pretty consistent. I'm going to torque the wheels and take her for a spin. See if I can pin it down.

 

Looks like the transmission fluid is low. About halfway up the stick between low and appropriate operating level. Going to pick up a couple quarts of atf and do the check valve delete while I'm in there.

 

If you cannot get this isolated, let me know. We can probably Slap ON the Snap On one day this week!
