Default Exhaust Question

Right now on my truck I have just a standard single muffler dual dump exhaust but I'm wanting to change it up. I like the look of trucks with the two pipes coming out the back but facing down and spreading out at a 45 degree angle. I'm wondering if I could do that with my exhaust and if it would make it quieter because I definitely don't want to sacrifice noise for looks.

Yeah, you can do anything you want to the exhaust...Why would you think it would be quieter? If the tailpipe is pointing down, the noise will resonate off the ground and e louder.

Just wasn't sure if separating the two pipes from right beside each other to opposite sides of the truck would reduce the sound for some reason.

So you have no tailpipes now? Tailpipes will definitely make it quieter.

It just has two pipes that are about a foot long that go up and then dump down right behind my muffler. I have a friend with two pipes out the back and his is loud as hell, but it's cherrybombed so I'm pretty sure that's where most of it comes from.
