I have a 2001 Ram 1500 5.9L Sport and about a week ago I had my check engine light come on. I ran the code and it was an 8th cylinder misfire (don't remember the number on it). I checked my engine and saw that the wire connecting the spark plug to the distributor wasn't plugged in to the distributor, so I plugged it in and cleared the code. I kept driving it and about 30 miles after clearing the code the light came back on. All my wires are good as far as I can see so not sure if that's the problem although I'll probably replace them and the plugs anyway. I also have noticed my truck has no power lately and it sounds less powerful through my exhaust. I did step on it today and my light actually turned off until I let off the gas. Anyone have any ideas what's wrong?
fix the plenum replace the cat, its beginning to clog.
I read something that said going to an aftermarket, thicker pan, on the plenum would make it not burn up again and to possibly install a new intake. Would either of these make any difference.

So the plug wire was off of #8, so for how ever long that cyld was not firing it was being washed down with fuel, not good. Do a comp test to see what is going on with the motor.
