Hi just hecked out this forum and think it is great,,, I have a 1998 dodge truck with check engine light on,, Can I pull the codes off without a reader?

 

Yes. Put the key in the ignition and turn it on-off-on-off-on (without starting the truck, just to on). When the key is left on the third time the "check engine" light will start flashing two digit codes. You have to count how many times the light flashes...it may flash three times, pause, flash five times, longer pause...that would be a 35. When it gets to 55, that will be the end. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I belive this is correct.
