oil pan pick uptube
check for the inspection cover not being hooked into the oil pan lip correctly, and the flexplate hitting it.
i made that mistake. scared the **** out of me.
do you have a helper to start the engine, or turn the starter while you get under it?
if not, remove the spark plugs and turn the engine with a socket on the big crank bolt. 1-1/4 in.

Also if everything checks out check your crank pulley the balancer might have broke off the back and it bouncing around the pully/shaft. It has happened on my truck. Would just be a coincidence since you just had the pan off but is another suggestion while your under there.
