Tps???
So there I was, doing a knock detector test and the program told me to go WOT...well the highest I could go was 71%...I know theres a resistance test I could do...so does anyone think just by the info I told you the tps is bad? I mean that could be the reason it has a hell of a time down shifting from OD to 3rd on the interstate...and if anyone knows the resistance info I could always test it. Thanks in advance.
Resistance will vary depending on postion of TPS. Specs are in FSM that can be downloaded here in FAQ/DIY section.
Check your plenum and tV cable. And no, not enough info given to determine if it is good or bad.

Need to use an analog meter to test resistance. And do you mean downshift when trying to accelerate while in OD? Or kickdown? More common symptom of bad tps is 200 or 300rpm surging either while idling or when driving at a steady speed on highway.

other symptoms of a bad tps is for it to be unresponsive or have a sort of dead spot.
for example you're going down the road at 60 and you press the gas pedal a little more - and nothing happens. you press it a little more - and nothing happens. you press it a little more - and all hell breaks loose. it suddenly unlocks tc, drops OD, downshifts, then upshifts... and you're still going 60. mine's done this crap before and it seemed like the pcm never got the original signal to "go a little faster". a new tps fixed it.

well the only time it does want to do anything is in OD. You have to almost floor it it get out of OD. Example: setting cruise at 72 and you start to go up a hill and it would down shift until 58...unless this whole thing is a transmission issue...which mine does slip between 2nd and 3rd. Could it be my OD solenoid and pressure switch?
