Default ATF +4

Does anyone know of a place where I can get my hands on some atf +4 trans fluid other than from a dealer? The cheapest I have found at a dealer in my area is $4.10 per quart. I have found some for sale on ebay by the case, but with shipping it comes out to about the same as the dealer's price. A full flush and refill equals way too much money at that price per quart. Also, has anyone used something other than chrysler's atf +4 in their trans? If so, what did you use and how did it work for you? Some guys have told me about putting an addative into atf +3 and running that, but I don't know how reliable that info really is. I didn't think you could put atf +3 into a trans that came with atf +4, addative or no addative.

Don't go the cheap route. The $4.10 per quart is cheap compared to an overhaul. The atf +4 is a friction modified fluid and withstands high temps much better than the +3.As far as the additives go I've seen and tried the Lubegard stuff. 1 trans did fine the other got the +4 after the rebuild.
