Default 4th gen wheel on 99 2wd

Hi folks,
New to the forum and have searched for answers with mixed results.
I replaced the wheels on my 4th gen 09 ram 1500 and was wondering if there were any fitment issues mounting them on my brother-in-law's 99 2WD Ram 1500.
Some say they bolt right on, others say they need to have the hub bored out.
Anyone seen the 20x8 Sport/SLT painted alloy wheel on a 2nd gen. Ram?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks.

On a 2WD, the centers would need to be bored out.

Or you could modify the hub caps on the front hubs...

Gotcha, thank you.
What's the cheaper option? Matter of grinding down the caps or milling out the bore?
Also is it hub or lug centric? So long as I clear the hub or do I need to be shooting for a specific size (which I can measure when I get out to my BIL's)?

If I remember correctly, boring out the wheels themselves is the easier, cheaper, safer option.
However, I would recommend that before you do anything, jack the 99 up, yank a front wheel and test the fitment. Some trucks don't need fitting, others do. It's weird.

As far as your second question, I'm lost there. lol If you're referring to the bolt pattern, yes the pattern is the same. If not, idk. lol
It's 2 am here anyway.
