Question Axle ratio? What do I have

My front axle is pretty much fried, or just needs axle seals. Im pretty sure that there is more damage now, but about two yrs ago I had a axle seal go out and throw fluid all over. Never touched it and two yrs later still driving on it, and it has been through a couple sandy/watery mud where 4wd was needed but not hammering on it. If i need to search for a new axle can you tell by the yr make and model? For time being I am avoiding crawling under it cause everything (including the driveway) is slop from melting snow. Anyways the truck is a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Laramie SPORT with auto trans and the 5.9L engine. Has the on the floor style 4wd lever.

Look on the diff's for a tag with the axle ratio or you can look under the hood on the sticker. If it's 3.55's it will say 3.5; 3.92 will be 3.9. If all else fails you can request a build sheet from Dodge with your vin # and it will tell you what axles it came with.
