Default Dodge ram lift

Hey, I have a 98 ram 1500. I'm buying either 2500 or 3500 front springs. I have a 2 inch leveling kit already. Will that still work on the springs.? I also have a two inch body lift I'm putting on soon. Just looking for a nice rear lift, like maybe an add a leaf, but I want it to stiffen my rear to that of a 2500 or 3500. Any suggestions? What extra parts should I buy to maintain good handling? Thanks

You can only do three inches lift total on the front suspension before you need to start addressing things like control arms, pitman arm, longer shocks, track bar, etc. I don't think the spacers and heavier coils will be a good idea.....

Get a full length AAL, not just one of the shorties. Will add a bit of capacity.

Why wouldn't spacers be a good idea for the spring? The springs add around 3 inches, 2 inch leveling and two inch body lift so around 7 inches of lift up front, the rear will only have the two inch body lift but I plan on putting around 1500 pounds in the bed on a regular basis. What would be a good shock to buy For the truck? I need around 3 inches of lift in the rear.

Math. 7" of lift will require other modifications to front suspension parts.

Take a look at 5" suspension lift kits from Top Gun Customz, Rancho, SkyJacker, etc. See all those crazy lookin' extra thingies? You need those in addition to your 5 inches of lift. Body lift does not affect suspension components.

And if you're looking to throw bigger tires under your truck after the lift, you need to re-gear the diffs to accommodate. 37" tires will fit with 7" of lift, 4.88 gears are recommended.

2inch leveling kit will work with the 3500 springs? But why go through all that hassle and money when you can just buy a pair of front heavy duty 5inch coil itself? Its cheaper and will save you tons of time. I also would not recommend a spacer. Also with a 3inch coil + 2inch level kit = 5inches of total lift. You will need a new: Track bar drop bracket, pitman arm, control arms, shocks at the least! Also you should get a full leaf pack or an aal. As said before the bodylift will not affect you any. If your going to do a 7inch lift you better get bigger tires such as 37's or itll just look tacky. Which means you will need new rims for your bigger tire and new gears to accomodate that. If your gonna lift it do it right the first time and do it safe, your not the only driver on the road. Nothing like having the front end fail on you while your turning into incoming rush traffic.

Plain and simply put: if you wanna save the hassle, scrap the leveling kit spacers, get 3" lifting springs, and 3" body lift. Total = 6" of lift. 1" less than what you wanted, but much less hassle.

id love to see what those control arms and sway bar links look like with 1 ton coils and spacers. axle will be offset 4 inches to the driver side with a lift like that on stock track bar. lmao

Is that what you did with your truck for the lift? What size tires and rims did you get?

If someone cold point me in the direction of some 3 inch lift coils that are stiffer and a set of heavy duty shock that would be nice. I already have 18 inch rockstars on 35's with just a leveling kit. Barely rubs I'm a high school kid on a budget...
