I really need some help with my A518 trans, just rebuilt the whole trans with o/d 2001 ram 4x4, replaced a lot of worn parts and a few moderate upgrades purchased a ATSG manual, did everything by the manual, tolerances fixed to specs get to end play have .028. First I replaced intermediate shim .016 less shim put back together same reading (VERY CONFUSED AT THIS POINT WITH RAISED EYEBROWS) I check at least 5 more times same result go to manual read alitte pull front pump again, caliper stock shim, go to my kit of shims another .016 less. Put back together , set dialcaliper thinking you are fixed (HOLY ****) same reading .028. I have this sinking feeling I am suppose to leave for school in Houston in June.PULL front pump take thrust washer completely out button back up same reading .028
CAN ANYBODY tell what is wrong or where to start- afraid going to have tear it down

There's a couple tranny rebuild thread's in the FAQ/DIY section you can look at while waiting for some one like GDstock (that has rebuilt his tranny recently) to reply.
