Default new rear shoes and drums.... are they too tight?

put new shoes and drums on today on the ram .. everytihng assembled back together correctly ... (double and tripple checked) and the new drums were a pain in the *** to get back on... really tight fight... while the rear end was still on stands i started the truck up and put it in drive and i can hear the shoes "rubbin" on the drums... VERY slightly... i used both methods of setting the brakes... parking brake on and off multiple times and the foward and reverse with hard braking method (after it was off the stands and back on the ground) .. theres no smoke coming from the rear end so i know the brakes arent super tight... i ran the truck really hard for about 20 miles... got out (chekced the lugs b/c of alum. wheels) but if i touch the drum through thte wheel...its hot as hell... i cant keep my hand on it long enough or it hurts[:@] when i put it in drive and let off of the brake itll roll forward by itself...and the same in revers... i dont smell the brakes as if they were burning up..and ive been driving around the better half of the day... ALSO!!!!!! the start wheel is backed off ALL the way.... is this normal? i never notice my old brakes if they drums were hot after driving a bit.... thanks fellas!!!!!!!

If nothing is smoking or turning red, I think you're ok. Anytime I've ever changed rear brake shoes they've always rubbed a little when new. The shoes will wear quickly to match the drums. The only thing I would check is to make sure the parts are correct. When you put the shoes on, did you dab a little grease on the places where the shoes rub the backing plate? As long as everything moved like it is supposed to before you put it back together I think you will be fine.
